In honor of Women's History Month, poet Denise Duhamel will read some poems by two of her favorite women writers and talk about them in a short presentation titled "Sharon Olds and Ai: The Influence of Intimacy and Persona."
One of the nation's most acclaimed poets, Denise Duhamel, will give a reading as part of the Converse College creative writing program's visiting writers series at 8pm on March 7. Duhamel's books include Ka-Ching!; Two and Two; Queen for a Day: Selected and New Poems; The Star Spangled Banner , and Kinky, among many others. Her work has been widely translated and appeared in several issues of The Best American Poetry anthology, plus numerous journals including American Poetry Review, Boston Review, Harvard Review, Ontario Review and Poetry East. A recipient of multiple awards for her work, Duhamel currently teaches in the Florida International Creative Writing program and in the Converse College Low-Residency MFA.
