Out Loud Readers’ Theatre
Benefit for PFLAG
Saturday 03/03/20127:00 - 9:00 pm
The Showroom
In 2005, from a small radio studio in the heart of the Deep South, the voices of gay and lesbian Southerners suddenly filled the AM airwaves on a program called Rainbow Radio. Many of the stories shared on the program were collected into the book Out Loud: The Best of Rainbow Radio in 2010 by Hub City Press. Included were stories that will inspire, enrage, and transform the way you think about what it means to be gay and lesbian in the South.
Now, on Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m., these stories will come to the stage at the Showroom, 149 S. Daniel Morgan Ave. in Spartanburg, as Hub City Press and PFLAG Spartanburg present an evening of readings from Out Loud. Join editors and authors for our Readers’ Theatre of “heart-felt storytelling” from the lives of gay, lesbian, and transgender South Carolinians.
Admission is $7.00, and all proceeds will benefit PFLAG (Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) Spartanburg. Copies of Out Loud will be available for purchase and signing.
